Burning Up With Dance Fever!

Thursday, September 3, 2009: Greatest DI Trip Ever!!!
So, as mentioned in the last post, Kim, Michelle and I made a trip to the Provo Deseret Industries, more commonly known as: The DI. Our mission was to find some awesome outfits for the Decades Dance that was the following night (friday night) that was being held at our school. You can usually find some pretty great things at any DI and I had some pretty darn high hopes for this trip. We head through the entrance and we almost couldn't breath because of the shock we were in: the store was HUGE! Practically miles and miles of "hand-me-down" clothing. We made our way through the racks and racks of clothes, spotting things here and there that could possibly work for some sort of outfit. I found this crazy, layery, pink shirt and put it on to see how it fit: a little snug, but nice! Then, we went on a search for the dress rack. Finally, we found it, but shocked again we realized there were about five or six racks, one dedicated to old, very beady wedding dresses. We searched through the dresses and I came across fate: it was beautiful! I tried it on and knew it was the dress for me. Kim did not seem to have as much luck as I did, but she had found some things that were suitable, so we started toward the check out counter. As we passed the little kids section of clothing, Kim spotted a dress that didn't exactly belong on the rack it was on. She picked it up and fell in love. It was perfect. Holy cow! I LOVE THE PROVO DI!

Friday, September 4, 2009: Institute Decades Dance!
We were to.tal.ly. stoked for the dance. We had our amazing outfits and all we had to do was wait for 8:00 pm to come around so we could get ready. We waited all day and finally it was time to prep ourselves. This dance's theme was DECADES, so we were supposed to dress up as someone from our favorite decade and wear something they would wear. For me, it wasn't so hard to get ready: just a little bit of make-up is all and a little something in my hair plus the dress and I was done! Kim, however, had quite a bit of prepping to do, thank goodness for Melanie; she was so willing to help us out. After about an hour or so of singing, dancing and getting ready, we were ready. We definitely looked like we just stepped out of a different time and place. I came from a different time than Kim, so that made it that much more cool! I needed to document with pictures, so we asked Melanie to take some pictures of us; we did that for a few minutes. We looked SO awesome!:)

See for yourself. Find your opinions, and tell them to me...

Kimberly: 80's prom queen material!

Me, Chelsea: Tranquil, peaceful hippie.

Close-up...

Peace, Love and Happiness.

Kim doesn't think I'm cool because I'm "out of date" in her book.

So...I'm pretty sure we were the coolest ones there, by far. I will love my dress forever; it's the best find I've ever found at the DI. BEST EVER! And I'm positive thinks that about hers, also, because it's awesome. We had an awesome time at the dance; they took our picture because we looked so good. Oh yeah!
