Every morning, we have to walk to the school. Every afternoon, we have to walk back to our apartment. Not so bad, right? Yeah, it wouldn't be so unenjoyable if I didn't have a full grown elephant riding on my back the whole time. That's the reason for my back hurting; no fun.
It's only been one week. Really??
Yes, we walk to school. Something we discovered two days ago: the Shuttle Bus. I have decided that it's sent from heaven because it makes me happy. It's still a walking distance, but so much closer than walking all the way to the school; it saves us time and pain. What's better than that? So this Shuttle Bus is pretty lovely, especially if you get the privilege to sit down! It's just a little shuttle, so the sits are along the sides, so you awkwardly face the person across from you (if you are sitting.) If you are unlucky and come late, then you must awkwardly stand there with your arms up in the air so you can reach the bar to hold on so you don't fall down like a crazy person. When standing like that, I feel like I'm waiting to get searched by the police; not such a great feeling. You can't see out the windows because of all the decorative UVU pictures on the outside so you never know where you are, you just have to know which stop is yours. It's great fun. There are definitely pros and cons to this Shuttle, you just have to get past the bad stuff and be grateful for such a time saver. Thank you Shuttle Bus.

how long of a walk is it back and forth? Can you come back in between to get different books by chance?
Also, if it's really bad, sometimes they have lockers on campus you can rent, which you could look into if you want.
Yay for the shuttle anyway! :)
Have fun
you could also look into investing in a cheap bike. bikes are AMAZING transportation. they do cost money, but you can usually find a pretty good deal if you know where to look. just be sure to get a lock. -devin
and eventually you probably won't need to carry all those books with you, i found it to be an overall rare occasion when the textbooks were required in class. depends on the class, of course.
the bike suggestion is a good one too.
and, yay for the shuttle bus!
