Meat Sample

Do people actually eat Buffalo meat???

I wonder this, because Buffalo Wings aren't really Buffalo...are they? Also, because I'm trying to figure out if I was being lied to or not. Do we eat buffalo?

My roommates and I went to Target the other day for a few essential items and as we wonderful around, a Target employee approached us and asked us if we wanted a sample. At that very moment, however, I was a few feet away comparing prices for Crinkle Fries, so when I saw the sample lady I ran towards her and my roommates so I could have the opportunity for a sample. It was a meat sample; it looked like hamburger to me so I shoved it in my mouth, enjoying each and every chew. Once I had swallowed, I heard Kim saying something about "buffalo." Here is where I find out what I just ate was buffalo. Also, here is where I question the fact of whether or not it was really buffalo.

So the question is still raised: Do we eat buffalo meat?

my first thought was to say yes - and certainly it has been eaten by americans in the past. But then I wondered, are there really still buffalo around that are hunted or raised and eaten? I'm not sure, actually.

So, good question.
Buffalo Wings are chicken, I know that.
hmm . . . time to do some swagbuck research perhaps. :)

ok, the answer is yes. You can buy and eat buffalo meat. Go here: http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/buffalo_meat.htm

But as to whether or not what YOU ate in Target was real buffalo meat or not, you just might have to bring up with your friendly neighborhood Target employees. :)

yes indeedy, people eat buffalo and supposedly it's much better for you than beef. i've never had any though.

since it doesn't sound like what you sampled was a "buffalo wing", if it was somewhat burger-or-beef-like, it probably actually was buffalo!
