Reading Rainbow

No...not the show....

But, I do think about it often.

Thinking about reading makes me think about Reading Rainbow.

It was a strange show, but I have lasting memories
from it. Some even give me the shivers. :(

ANYWAY!

What I'm really talking about is just plain old reading.

I will have you know that I have always loved it, but my true love (in that category) are the books, not the reading. {remember, though, I DO love reading!}

I love books. So much.

In all honestly, I could spend hours in a book store...and I'd probably end up buying all the books (especially if I had endless amounts of money)...but, the catch: I'd most likely never read the books. Not ALL of them, at least.

...NOW, to the point....

As I mentioned my Reading Resolution once, awhile back and here I am mentioning it again.

I am learning to be a better reader and I am so flippin' proud of myself!

So far this year--since January 1--I have read 7 books!!! For some of you, that may seem like nothing...you could probably do that in a month...but for ME,
THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Just so you know...I have finally read the first two of the seven Harry Potter books.

Go me! :)

I am just loving this reading fix I'm on!

I just finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (the second one) and afterwards I needed another book immediately! I felt sad and bored because I didn't have a book to read.

So me and Michelle went to the Library and got some books to read!

I love this. I am so proud of myself.

So very proud! :)

For the Babies

OKAY. Ready???

So, my aunt works for the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes is an organization that helps little pre-mature babies and their families.

To learn more, and to get actual facts, just go to the link! :)

ALRIGHT!

Here's the deal...

They have walks ("marches") for the cause. They raise money and serve and educate. It's a good cause, people!

You're basically heartless if you don't think so...sorry to be so frank.

Just imagine those little babies who are born too soon. They're the size of your palm. Their legs are the size of one of your plump fingers!

JUST IMAGINE!

For Davis County (in the state of Utah) the walk is coming up on May 1 in Layton.

Walk with us....it'll make you feel warm and fuzzy inside AND you're getting exercise.

And while you're considering and swaying your mind towards "YES, I'll do it!", consider donating on my personal page for the March for Babies.

ONE DOLLAR, at the least.

PLEASE!!! :)

If you're feeling heartless...imagine those babies one more time!

Go on...go ahead...I dare you to donate. FIGHT for a good cause.

Remember: the walk is May 1st in Layton, Utah. There is information on my personal page and on the March of Dimes webpage.

One more thing: remember to donate. Just go to my page and on the right side at the top there is a place to donate. Choose the amount you'd like and continue on from there.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

It's not a burden or anything, it's a good cause for babies. LITTLE babies!

Everything helps!

Leggo My Eggo

Today was one of those long days...

Except a normal long day that I'm sure you're thinking of is more likely to be bad than good...

Well...today was a good long day...

This morning it was snowing and that made me sad.

I woke up earlier than normal {which was awesome!}

As I read Harry Potter and waited for my Eggo Waffles to toast. . . .

The power went out. :(

I was the only one awake, so I was sad.

I was sad, alone and in the dark...

Kim and I read a book together today:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

[Go Us!]

We Also:

Danced in the bathroom

Decided to be Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy

Went to three stores in the Mall

Got facials

Bought some make-up

Watched Confessions of a Shopaholic

Watched All About Steve

Ate Chex-Mix

Made sandwiches

Ate some fries at the Wal-Mart McDonalds

(Plus many other things, obviously!)

and most important...just like every other day...HAD FUN! :)

Just a Little Jumbled

Do you ever find yourself continuously clicking on other people's links and you end up reading people's blogs that you don't even know??

For me, that's basically everyday.

There are a few blogs and that always go back to, and I don't even know these people in real life!
I know them through their blogs.

They're my blog friends...

...which are sadly similar Imaginary Friends...

I read them and most of the time get ideas of how I'd like to organize my blog, and my life!
Most of the time they just make me smile.
They live cute lives!

I am not a stalker! :(

They don't know me...I don't know them.

They're writing on a blog so people anywhere can read it.
And I suppose that is what happens!

Makes me wonder who reads my blog....

.A.N.Y.W.A.Y.

I got my second letter from my good friend Seth over the weekend. He's so funny.
He is on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in North Carolina.
And he is doing awesome!
It makes me so happy to see my friends leave on missions. Right now I go to a lot of farewells and in two years and I will be attending a lot of homecomings!
So busy!
I may be happy, but then again, I am sad because I don't get to see them. But it's okay in the end, because they're gone for a good reason, which I'm okay with! :)
Brian will leave soon...that'll be a bitter.sweet day for sure!
:'(

{SCHOOL}--Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's easy...sometimes I try, sometimes I don't.

Will I ever be one of those students who is is good EVERY day?

*I better hurry up and change my ways, I only have a few years left!!!*

Me and Kim and our bud Jillian are taking an African Dance class together. It is a blast...most days. We have so much fun and it is definitely a work out. I'm not one to exercise regularly, so my body is kind of mocking me since I started this class at the beginning of the semester. Every tuesday after class I eat and eat and eat. It continues to amaze me! The class is only on tuesdays and it is at night, so when we get back I eat and watch American Idol (which by the way is the first complete season I have watched since it started 8 years ago.) Last night I ate half a can of corn, a large bowl of mini penne noodles with sauce, a whole sandwich and some ice cream. WOAH! And to think, all that and I still wasn't uncomfortably full...it's truly crazy. BUT, besides the nonstop hungry after the class, I enjoy it most days. Yesterday, not so much; I wasn't in the mood. Other days, it rocks-my-socks it's so fun! I have no regrets so far! :)

[I just want you to
know that while I've
been writing this post
I have been listening to
Classical music.
I can feel myself
getting smarter! ;)]

Health

Is it strange that my Health class has opened my eyes a little bit--among other things--??

I find it a little strange, honestly.

I'm not counting, but I try to get 10,000 steps in a day, because that's the minimum to stay healthy...apparently.

I've been eating a lot of salad this week. whoop.

Also, I have found out a few things:
  • there are seven Health Dimension: spiritual, physical, mental, intellectual, social, environmental and emotional
AND
  • I kind of fail at all of them...so, basically, I'm pretty unhealthy.
...super...

With that being said, the question is: NOW WHAT?

I don't know, actually.

For the emotional and social parts, I'm helping myself by reading a book I got for Christmas: How to Win Friends & Influence People.

It's rather inspirational. I feel different already--{and I haven't even read any of the chapters yet, just the introduction...awesome}--

I feel happier, and I don't think it's just because of that book...I have to believe it is because of other factors, also.

Which is, for sure, good news!

I have finally solved a long, lingering problem...it has occupied my mind for some time, now...definitely a factor in my recent happiness!

YAY FOR THE NEW YEAR!

I have a feeling, it's going to be a good one! :)

2-0-0-9

A year that I've been waiting for...is now gone.

Hmm.

It's hard to believe it's actually over now, and we are officially living in the year 20-10. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I suppose I'm ready to start anew...but maybe not. I think I miss 09.

Alas, we must move forward with a positive attitude and be excited for what is to come.

Looking back on the year, I had some fun! Things were definitely great, most of the time...everyone has their ups and downs.

Stepping Back Into Two-Thousand-And-Nine

My year began while on a trip to Mississippi to visit family. That was a fun trip.

The first picture of me and
Kim. We had been friends be
fore this night, but this is when
we started to become close.
Thank goodness! :)

EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY! A big birthday in anybody's life...Officially becoming an adult because of age, not maturity level.
Oh good.

Limousine. Ever ridden in a Limo? A Hummer Limo, no less? I have! :D

Prom: probably the best dance of the year.

When Kelsey turned 18, she had an awesome party. I was privileged to attend!
HARRY POTTER!

First Roommate Picture! Yay.

Grad.u.ation.
The day came and went...sometimes it's hard to believe it even happened.
But, it did. I did it. Woah.

At the end of July, I went to Maine to visit family.
While in Maine is where this blog really began!

PIONEER TREK!
Second time going; second time having a blast!

College comes next...it's all in one. So many things have happened, there are just too many pictures! I am, for the most part, loving living in Orem with Kim, Michelle, Kelsey, Abbey, Melanie and Claire! We have so much fun!:)

Well, as you can see, my 2-0-0-9 was pretty great. Thanks to all who made it that way. Here comes a new year...actually, it is here: HERE IS A NEW YEAR! Let's make it great, awesome and fantastic.

To say it simply: LET.US.HAVE.FUN!

"Smiling is the best currency."

Sometimes, I get this overwhelming urge to be cooler than I am. It's not like I'm bragging, saying, "Wow, I'm so cool," but it's not like I'm boring, either...
ANYWAY...
Really, though.

I have this book called Sark's New Creative Companion: Ways to Free Your Creative Spirit...my Mom (Jen) gave it to me a while back. Every time I look at it I am reminded of how I want to be more creative and more easy going in life. I want to LIVE my LIFE! We can all admit that sometimes it gets hard to be spontaneous and to think out of the box; I wish it wasn't hard.

If I just wish, it's not going to happen. I have to make it happen.

I was following different links that I found on some blogs that I read and reading about random people's lives and I came across someone's that I absolutely fell in love with. I thought, "Good Gravy. How do people get so cool?" It made me a little jealous, yes, but it is also what brought on this urge I'm having. I want to be free and exciting.

Just For One Day:

GO on your travels with just one dollar in your pocket. include walking, nature, relaxation and smiling. smiling is the best currency.

THINK of an advertisement for something you want and put it in a newspaper or up on a tree.

SPEND two hours in a library for pleasure only.

DO everything with your least dominant hand. if you are ambidextrous, do handstands.

"Send love to your fears. welcome your fears! invite
them in, entertain them, and then send them home!"

HOW TO REALLY BE ALIVE!
Live juicy. Stamp out conformity. Stay in bed all day.
Dream of gypsy wagons. Find snails. Develop an astounding
appetite for books. Drink sunsets. Draw out your feelings.
Amaze yourself. Be ridiculous. Stop worrying. NOW. If now
now, then when? Make yes your favorite word. Marry yourself.
Dry your clothes in the sun. Eat mangoes naked. Keep toys
in the bathtub. spin yourself dizzy. Hang upside down. Follow
a child. Celebrate an old person. Send a love letter to yourself.
Be advanced. Try endearing. Invent new ways to love. Transform
negatives. Delight someone. Wear pajamas to a drive in movie.
Allow yourself to feel rich without money. be who you truly are
and the money with follow. Believe in everything. You are always
on your way to a miracle...The miracle is you!

Each day is a new day, but sometimes I don't treat it like one. I'm not the best at getting over things quickly and I'm not perfect at always being cheerful and optimistic. Both are total bummers because, things like that, slow my life down and don't make it as awesome as it could be. I want to be happy, positive and advanced all the time. I don't want to look back at my life and WISH I had done this, or that...I never want to regret.

I'm going to Live.

I am now ALIVE!
Let's do it together!
...I dare you! ;)

If....

If I wrote lyrics to songs, they'd be pretty special. MOST artists who write their own songs (or anyone who writes lyrics, for that matter) write about things that have actually happened to them. How do I know that? Well, let's take a walk down memory lane to my Honors English class Jr. Year to a phrase that Ms. Smith repeated just about every day: WRITERS WRITE WHAT THEY KNOW! But, that's almost common sense...almost!

So, since my life is so action packed and filled with interesting events, I think my songs would be pretty darn great, minus the fact that writing song lyrics/poems isn't my forte. Being a Lyricist is one of those unrealistic dreams I have, along with being an Olympic Figure Skater! It hurts me to the core to think I'll never make it that far! :)

Imagine if I were famous, you would all know a famous person! I'm definitely thinking that would be awesome, I don't know about you. If I was friends with a famous person, I'd feel pretty satisfied with my life. That'd be cool if my face were on a billboard. Can you imagine? Guys, I'm not self-absorbed. I'd like to see any of your faces on a billboard, too! You can't tell me that wouldn't be awesome!

If only, If only. We can always dream!:)

Life is Fun when You're having FUN!

Kim and I are awesome. We have so much fun together. If we were anything different than how we are, I don't know what I'd do.

Today we made some more music videos. Our stage is our living room and it's always a party. Whoo Hoo!

Enjoy!

That's just one of many. This one's the best one because of us almost breaking something....Making music videos is So much Fun!

Little Known Fact

I don't know if you know, but me and my friends are models. Posing in front of the camera just comes naturally to us, it's almost hard to believe. There was a day a few weeks back where Kim, Sean and I went on an adventure to a near-by park with a WICKED AWESOME--but hard to enjoy--swing. We ventured to this park to try out the swing, but ended up having a photo shoot, also. It was a fun time.

The Incredible swing. Yes, it is rad.

"Pocahontas and John Smith"

Sean's going to hate me...he's embarrassed by this photo.

"Joy"

Just so we're clear, we're not real models.
We were just having fun. :)
